It all began with a trip. One of those that fills more than just your camera roll—it fills your soul (and your stomach).

Japan welcomed us with open arms and blew our minds with its flavors. We tasted dishes that we still remember in detail, felt textures we’d never experienced, and discovered flavors that, honestly, are here to stay. And we made ourselves a promise: to bring a piece of that Japanese experience back home.

Today, that promise takes shape as the Katsu Burger. Not just a flavor bomb—it’s a bridge between two worlds.

What makes the Katsu Burger so special?

Inspired by the classic Japanese katsu-sando—the iconic sandwich made with breaded pork cutlet served between two slices of milk bread—our version adds a Hideout Burger twist. A bold reinterpretation with total respect for the original.

The result? A burger-ized katsu-sando unlike anything you’ve ever tried before:

• Crunchy panko-breaded pork
• Finely shredded cabbage, as tradition demands
• Pickled onion to balance the acidity
• Samurai sauce: our original spin on the classic tonkatsu, with a bold Hideout flair
• All served in our signature soft and fluffy bun that ties everything together

A collaboration with a taste for stories

This burger wasn’t cooked up solo. We teamed up with @el_puto_ken, a true-blooded Japanese foodie and storyteller who’s been narrating flavors for years. Together, we created something far deeper than a typical collab.

Ken didn’t just design the killer visuals—he helped shape the soul of this burger. He introduced us to a philosophy we instantly fell in love with:

和魂洋才 (Wakon Yōsai), which means “Japanese spirit, Western talent.”

‍

A way of seeing the world—and cooking—that fits us to a tee: honoring tradition, but never afraid to flip it on its head.
